@bloodshoteyes When you went into the account to set up your push to talk did you try out the "mic test" while you were in there?

Also check the input/output devices to see if your headset/mic are selected. Sometimes the "default" option is the one that works

Please do yourself a favor and do not download the app a second or third time that can create conflict and more problems

k this is frustratioing crap. im going to log off and see if i can make a simple wav file. UPS just brought new headphines. if i cant get the mic to work ill just have to assume its the computer is the weak link here

No that is not the case it is not yur computer

Try unplugging the headset then plug it back into a different usb port

Sometimes just a restart of your machine will fix the problem

When anyone installs the app and it is new there a lots of updates that come into your computer from Discord. Sometimes those updates cause problems

You might also check woth discord support and see if there are any updates specific for Linus

The FAQ's over there "suck" but you might find a solution for Linux.

k starting to think i might need to reboot cause i found that tab that changes default to microphone. box came up botifying me that new device had been plugged in. but still no sound from mic yet

Okay it cna take some fiddling around but once you have your headset working you should not have any more trouble. I had one hell of a time because I did not know what the hell I was doing and made every mistake known and I also invented a few new problems along the way

If it could be messed up I was able to do it
