No
Or at least defines itself as one
The use of Republic in the case of the U.S. in this point in time is quite arbitrary
The U.S. is democratic state
Can we pin actual questions?
No
Its not a democracy
The only democratic part of america is voting for our representatives
democratic republic
No
After that, it acts nothing like a democracy
Constitutional republic
US is not a democracy
Democracy would be every law is voted on by every person
This is not how america is ran
The reps write and vote on laws
Yes
perhaps the US isn’t an actual democratic republic, but that was the intended system when it was created.
Not even
that is a democracy, no?
They only vote on reps
Then exec
But every other choice is msde by those reps
yes
Every law
democratic republic
Democratic Republic of Congo
Democratic Republic of China
These are just names
But they dont match the definition
i don’t claim to be an expert on American government or anything, but i know for fact that the intended system upon creation was a democratic republic
a federation of states in which eligible citizens elect representatives to vote for their interests
im not claiming that this is how it works
but this is how it was meant to work
Majority rule would not respect everyone's rights and maintain rule of law
That's why we don't have that
U like T.Jefferson?
who
Yea, we didnt want mob rule
