U think hitler wanted with war with the Allies or who @The Big Oof
Hitler shouldve waited until i existed to kill internation jews
Tensions were high and both sides hated each other, but only one of those two was willing to actually start it
that being Hitler
I would be a great attack dog
also, Stalin didn't want to attack Germany, he actually wanted to be a part of the Axis Powers a little while after their non-aggression pact was signed
and fight against Great Britain with Hitler
this gets forgotten
>hitler wanted to start the war
Stalin thought he couldnt fight Hitler
he winded up being wrong, but at the time he didnm't believe he could
How many territories did Hitler forcefully occupy before war was finally declared?
And the allies conceded not just once
So was Hitler supposed to be allowed to get away with just marching in and taking whatever territory he felt was his?
>but it used to be German
and sure, a lot of it did
But he got a lot back
before the war started
Same way i walk into rooms, im big and strong and have guns
How is that fair
How do you expect someone to respond when they see you rebuilding your military and walking in and taking over territory?
Even if it was once yours
Submission
What is the response inevitably always going to be
no
*nukes your capital*
That doesnt justify that it was *my cake* and I was taking it back
However I see your point.
For the sake of argument, even if this was the case, and it was all Hitler wanted like you claim
Why then did he turn around and invade the Soviet Union at a time when Stalin
1. Was not interested in war
2. Was completely incapable of attacking Germany
Alright.
Hitler's attack on Russia was a pre-emptive strike because they had revealed plans that the Soviet Union had to invade europe.
Whether these plans were enough justification is debatable, so I don't take sides on that, however, all I know is that he fought the russians because his generals revealed a plan they discovered that Russia has planned to invade europe
That wasn't how I understood it, wasn't the final cause of the falling out a combination of:
1. A seemingly aggressive proposal on Stalin's part
2. Positioning of Soviet troops and the situation with Finland
?
According to a former officer of the Soviet military intelligence and a defector to the UK, in his book, "Icebreaker: Who Started The Second World War" Soviet ground forces were well-organized and mobilized en masse along the German–Soviet frontier for a Soviet invasion of Europe slated for Sunday, July 6, 1941 but were unprepared to defend their own territory.
(In his book.)
Maybe, but I've read about a quote from Stalin where he said the Soviet military wasn't going to be prepared to fight Germany for another few years
I see
