That's not true.

2018-07-16 06:54:11 UTC

Most snakes blend into their environment because birds regularly prey on them and because they're ambush predators. They aren't fast.

2018-07-16 06:54:25 UTC

Bizarre coloration is not true for snakes as a deterrent.

2018-07-16 06:55:30 UTC

Venemous to eat, but not venemous snakes. That's not what you said at first, and what you said at first was what I disagreed with.

2018-07-16 06:56:03 UTC

Not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be so which ones?

2018-07-16 06:56:10 UTC

I honestly cannot recall any.

2018-07-16 06:56:12 UTC

most venemous snakes are super camo

2018-07-16 06:56:16 UTC

cottenmouth

2018-07-16 06:56:35 UTC

I think of boomslangs, they're green because they live in trees.

2018-07-16 06:56:46 UTC

Seasnakes, yellow because of coral.

2018-07-16 06:56:55 UTC

think of cottonmouths, black bc they live in swamps

2018-07-16 06:57:05 UTC

they have crazy good camo

2018-07-16 06:57:14 UTC

Plus I'm not sure any snakes are actually venemous to eat.

2018-07-16 06:57:18 UTC

The venom is in the fangs.

2018-07-16 06:57:29 UTC

I'm sure some are, but not most.

2018-07-16 06:57:31 UTC

Taipan

2018-07-16 06:57:48 UTC

perfectly coloured for the desert

2018-07-16 06:58:43 UTC

Generally only prey animals use bright coloration as a deterrent because being brightly colored and being an ambush predators would never be naturally selected.

2018-07-16 06:59:10 UTC

Predators are just not bizarrely colored.

2018-07-16 06:59:21 UTC

Cheetahs don't ambush and they still have camo.

2018-07-16 06:59:28 UTC

they stalk

2018-07-16 06:59:38 UTC

But the hunt is running. They don't ambush.

2018-07-16 06:59:47 UTC

they stalk as close as possible before running

2018-07-16 06:59:53 UTC

You don't do a sing and dance even if you want to run something down.

2018-07-16 06:59:57 UTC

They aren't ambush predators.

2018-07-16 06:59:57 UTC

thats an ambush of sorts

2018-07-16 07:01:53 UTC

@εïз irma εïз have you ever seen videos about the ambush theory?

2018-07-16 07:01:59 UTC

Cheetahs will ambush you

2018-07-16 07:03:42 UTC

someone red pill me

2018-07-16 07:04:02 UTC

Yes, why would they not?

2018-07-16 07:04:08 UTC

The hunt is the running, not the ambush.

2018-07-16 07:04:15 UTC

They are not ambush predators.

2018-07-16 07:04:22 UTC

All of the energy spent is spent on the running.

2018-07-16 07:04:45 UTC

Again, why would they not?

2018-07-16 07:04:49 UTC

You don't do a sing and dance.

2018-07-16 07:05:00 UTC

yes

2018-07-16 07:05:02 UTC

yeah

2018-07-16 07:05:13 UTC

i think stalking up close and suddenly running out of bushes at your prey counts as an ambush of sorts

2018-07-16 07:05:33 UTC

"Pursuit predation is an alternate predation strategy to ambush predation. While pursuit predators use a detection and pursuit phase in order to obtain prey, ambush predators use stealth to capture prey. Strength and speed are important to pursuit predators, whereas ambush predators ignore these in favor of surprise from a typically concealed location."

2018-07-16 07:05:44 UTC

"a surprise attack by people lying in wait in a concealed position."

2018-07-16 07:05:52 UTC

They are pursuit predators. Every pursuit predator relies on stealth.
