profit made from stock or property that was owned for less than one year just falls into income tax
he did this as it incentivized long term investment (investment of over one year) instead of short term day trading or quarterly trading of stocks.
now of course there are negative and benefits here, you incentivize long term investment but lose a large chuck of state fiscal revenue

Mixed economics is a combination of market economy with some state-planned aspects. So like regulation but still free-market in the consumer aspect where it doesn't impact culture or society. And state-planned in the military aspect to stop the power of the military-industrial complex. Privatization of prisons and stuff like that. Not to mention health care and shit.
Capitalism is a good tool but when left un-checked it can harm the society that keeps it alive.
