teamspeak supposedly doesn't. Most went from skype to TS, then to discord when it came out, but some back to TS

it is just who gets caught doing it

whether discord actually sold the data is debated

They have it available to people who develop with their dev kits

but when they started doing sweeps of things when they became mainstream, (like servers and members supporting ISIS, and then alt-right discords after Charlottesville) they got the information needed of who to ban and all because they have been collecting all the data

people act like that data collection always stays at the source because the privacy policy says so

someone that left the Discord team claimed they did do that, but would search for keywords first and unmark a ton of things that were important or private before they wiped data every week or so
