I take a biblical approach.
There’s the sun, moon, and stars.
That’s it.
OK so you don't believe in all the other planets?
There’s 4 of what they call planets.
Different sizes and shapes of rotundity.
Quite impossible for the distances they’re said to be at.
OK but the saturn one there you seem to be able to see a sphere with rings around it. Can't be a star
It definitely looks peculiar.
But it’s not a planet.
And it’s not a sun.
Why not a planet?
Because it also changes in rotundity.
Terrestrial objects can’t do that.
Celestial objects, yes.
Unless some outside force effects the earth, perhaps then our shape would change. But not like what we see with the stars.
So sun and moon are inside the firmament?
I can only say that’s a belief.
Though, it’s one I hold.
we know they are lights
thats what we can observe
How do we know the earth is flat
We went through some of the evidence
Mostly you can't see any curvature even at great height it appears flat
But how can you say the moon is a light? I mean it appears to emit light but it's clearly also a Rocky structure wirh craters and stuff
You can see those with the naked eye
The light from the moon is reflected off the sun
@Derek Nelson the reason I can almost believe in a firmament is that it explains how the atmosphere of earth can exist beside the vacuum of space
And could also explain why no one had been able to go beyond low earth orbit
is the moon just some white light or is it a white ball?
It’s a satellite
a satelite?
but why is it so big?
A natural satellite
The moon is it’s own light.
It’s cooler in moonlight than moon shade.
A cold light.
It is not reflecting the sun.
Even ice that reflects sunlight is warm.
