notice how GPS and google maps is always accurate
u think google earth is an accurate representation of the globe?
@jeremy Globe earth supposedly very accurate, the used coordinate systems maybe 50 miles off occasionally, idk
it always pinpoints where I am precisely
can't do that with inaccurate maps
Slight errors exist, but the globe is supposed to be the best we got, like WGS84
so google earth is an accurate model of earth ok
Not always
@AstralSentient where is it wrong
For example, altitude values have error bars
So you can't always use google earth for getting heights over areas
ok go to google earth everyone
i use it a lot
what do you want us to look at
zoom out as far as u can
k
globe
can u see anything that is 86 kilometers in diameter
On Google maps, it is flat
zoom out as far as u can and tell me if u can see anything that is 86 kilometers in diamete
diameter
Ok
idk how to draw a circle on the globe
can u see anything thats 86 kilometers in diameter ?\
how about 200 km in diameter
Idk
give it a shot
can u see anything
Yes, looks like I can
that big
yeah what
86 kilometer line
where
Visible
I put it on Texas and saw it when zoomed out, so...
I can't see a 1000 meter line for example, but 86 km is easy to notice
yeah too bad google earth doesnt let u zoom out farther you would see
they only let u zoom out 40 thousand miles
u think u can still see that line if u were anotehr 200,000 miles away ?
