I linked a vid, I think you saw it.
sly sparkane yes
Rather than the lines curving to the equator, they go straight out as parallel lines
Because each person sees it east, in the same direction, on the equinox sunrise.
ok well u cant travel in a straight line on the globe
what u can do is travel to t he spot where the sun is rising
straight line in what coordinate ssytem
straight line in reality
reality isn't a coordinate system
the globe curves u cant go straight
geocentric, or cartesian, etc
oh ok, so oh a sphere you can go in a straight line
in a spherical coordinate system
wouldnt u end up in outerspace
on a sphere
ok well that'sa diff coordinate system
so ya i understand you now
well you'd have to leave the surface to go in a straight line
but you can follow a line of longitude
yes in reality on globe earth u cant travel in a straight line
@jeremy that spot is east on the equinox, so it is visually rising in different directions
so when i get shown lines of stright lines and we are talking about traveling on earth it doesnt make sense to me
you have to technically use spherical trig
but that works as well
it rises east for everyone on earth
Yes
over short distances, that's teh same as a 2D surface
not different directions its east for everyone
correct fore everyone it rises at an azimuth of 90
east
yep
East points to different spots depending on where you are
except on the equinox at sunrise east points to the same spot for everyone on earth
Nope
does the sun rise east ont he equinox for everyone on earth ? yes or no
The lines are parallel
Yes
i feel like we get nowhere everyday lol
This one's complicated to visualize
