aves is under dinosauria

2018-09-25 10:23:42 UTC

dinosauria is under sauria(reptiles)

2018-09-25 10:24:01 UTC

Modern replies and dinosaurs are much more differnt than you think they would be

2018-09-25 10:24:42 UTC

as i said i think this is somewhat of a semantical difrence

2018-09-25 10:25:01 UTC

there is linnaean clasification and there is phylogenic clasification

2018-09-25 10:25:21 UTC

linnaean clasification clasifies birds as seperate of reptiles

2018-09-25 10:25:34 UTC

but under phylogenic clasifitaion they are under reptiles

2018-09-25 10:25:55 UTC

You are right about the common ancestor but to say they *are* reptiles is wrong they are about as related to modern day reptiles as we are.

2018-09-25 10:26:08 UTC

im sorry but they are by deffinition reptiles

2018-09-25 10:26:17 UTC

under phylogenic clasification

2018-09-25 10:26:19 UTC

They aren't tho

2018-09-25 10:26:23 UTC

you cant argue againsed a deffinition

2018-09-25 10:26:38 UTC

Show your source please

2018-09-25 10:27:03 UTC

there is wikipedia

2018-09-25 10:27:16 UTC

there are a few others but i have to find them

2018-09-25 10:27:28 UTC

I'm on the wiki for Ornithurae

2018-09-25 10:27:42 UTC

go up the chain

2018-09-25 10:27:58 UTC

To the Phylum?

2018-09-25 10:28:06 UTC

That wouldn't make sense

2018-09-25 10:28:06 UTC

Avialae

2018-09-25 10:28:14 UTC

go up untill you hit Avialae

2018-09-25 10:28:20 UTC

then look what its under

2018-09-25 10:28:28 UTC

dinosauria

2018-09-25 10:28:32 UTC

click that and see what its under

2018-09-25 10:28:52 UTC

eventually Archosaur

2018-09-25 10:29:02 UTC

wich is under reptilia (sauria)

2018-09-25 10:29:50 UTC

i have a text clasification of many species of extinct membders of sauria

2018-09-25 10:30:18 UTC

im having a bit of problem with pantestudines

2018-09-25 10:30:18 UTC

I know birds evolved from Dinos

2018-09-25 10:30:38 UTC

birds are still dinosaurs

2018-09-25 10:30:51 UTC

But to call them reptiles is needlessly pendantic, and at worst a little disingenuous

2018-09-25 10:30:57 UTC

under phylogenic clasifification

2018-09-25 10:31:11 UTC

its not pendantic

2018-09-25 10:31:16 UTC

its deffinitional

2018-09-25 10:31:31 UTC

under phylogenic clasification

2018-09-25 10:31:46 UTC

If you say "birds are lizards" you ignore what differentiates birds from lizards

2018-09-25 10:31:48 UTC

just like how in science the word theory means something else

2018-09-25 10:31:58 UTC

i never said birds are lizards

2018-09-25 10:32:10 UTC

lizards are a subclade of reptile

2018-09-25 10:32:21 UTC

Apologies

2018-09-25 10:32:29 UTC

"birds are reptiles"
