i think his worst is bruce dickinson's best
Actually I think how his voice changed was a bit of tragedy
check out Battle Cry on youtube
i don't see how he gets that top spot
so, to drive home the point earlier, this Judas Priest track shows that his primary departure from classical singing is using less vibrato
and it works
it's honestly one of the better ways to sing great without being a foofy opera singer
yeah halford really made his voice soar on this
hey this is real important
if any of you want to do his style of head voice
the way to train that is to sing with your falsetto as low as possible
and over months and years, it will start to sound like that instead
same deal with axl rose and marco hietala and many others with a similar sound
that is the secret
the con: what it does to your voice is semi-irreversible
nah not necessarily
you might permanently lose proficiency at normal falsetto for it
Listen to Halls of Valhalla, it shows he still has it.
i got scoped by an ENT
Eric Adams is great too
I am not saying it will produce nodes
but yeah, that is how to do what he is doing
But his high notes aren't just falsetto
it's hard as hell to do as well as he is doing it
They're more like a head voice with vocal fry
that is what I am saying
it is basically a falsetto vocal fry
The biggest impediment to most people doing it is that they don't have enough breath control
It requires a lot of power
And control
Too much, blowouts
Too little, cords don't move properly and it sounds like shit
it seems like with that technique, it is harder to place notes
like it's easier to be a hair off key singing tha way
he's always on point on recordings
so he is doing a great job
sometimes not so much live
exactly
but he's old now
