Not in actions
But in the heart
No
“Whoever of you sees an evil must then change it with his hand. If he is not able to do so, then [he must change it ] with his tongue. And if he is not able to do so, then [he must change it] with his heart. And that is the slightest [effect of] faith.”
I remember talking about this in a group actually
Or something similar. Not openly voicing one's inner darkness
What is inner darkness
Perhaps some of what you call inner darkness
Is good. Light. Whatever
And some legitimately evil
Intentions decide
Remember nothing is evil
Except souls. Choices.
Because evil is a privation. Understand this.
Evil is un- or anti- good only
Not anything itself
Guarding the gaze, holding the tongue etc are ways to keep a lid one's potential for evil
Yeah, these are in context though
Sometimes the tongue needs to be loosed
Only the evil choice and action is the evil
If you are tempted and dont follow through
Its all good
This is necessary
I suppose sometimes it's good to talk it out with another? which would be less good than being able to deal with whatever it is within oneself alone. Though, we are only human
Its why you were not simply created flawless
So you can live and choose
No harm in talking. Remember its about intention and action.
If one knows they can't resist a certain thing, it bypasses choice somewhat
Even then, actual physical removal becomes the choice
There is nothing one truly cannot resist but yeah if they think they will be and seek it anyway
So there's still always a choice
Thats right
I'm trying to think of this example from a story
Something to do with an expedition to Rome
Oh well
Gist?
I may remember
Something about one of the warriors voicing that he wouldn't be able to resist the Roman women
So he simply didn't get to go on that expedition
