can do medical anticoagulation but that's of limited effectiveness
he's already had it likely anyway
a collateral circulation develops anyway
depends on what vessel it is as well
Major bypass surgery was done 19 years ago, stents put in 2008
Each heart attack is a new area
Borrowed time
oh okay
nothing can be done then
just aspirin, clopidogrel, statins
yeah my mom is getting a stent put in today supposedly
a stent where?
she just said two arteries are clogged
at first they weren't going to do it
since they said it wasn't bad enough
stable coronary vessel disease is a different disease almost
yeah, she's never had cardiac symptoms. just a very faint murmur she's had for years and years
ekg always comes back good
that's why i asked
she's had chest wall pain since as long as i can remember but i chalk that up to smoking and coughing constantly
SEE
fuck man
unless her chest pain is definitely cardiac
it's most certainly not
then there is no proven benefit to angioplasty and stenting
this has caused significant controversy
that's what i suspected on the fucking phone to her
but she insists on having yet another procedure done
to assuage her own fears
I haven't told you my opinion
just what the mainstream position is
what's the hessian perspective
I don't think its egregious to have stenting with major vessel disease
it definitely improves pain earlier
but as stated, the pain she has is likely not cardiac in origin
you could be wrong
another doctor from another health system referred her to MRI to check her back
i think she has inflammation due to hard bouts of coughing, but this chest pain issue did not manifest until after my dad passed
i think she's having panic attacks
i could be wrong
