"...it is the fear of the past; a fear not merely of the evil in the past, but of the good in the past also. The brain breaks down under the unbearable virtue of mankind. There have been so many flaming faiths that we cannot hold; so many harsh heroisms that we cannot imitate; so many great efforts of monumental building or of military glory which seems to us at once sublime and pathetic. The future is a refuge from the fierce competition of our forefathers."
I replied with a thought
im reading
I watched Real Housewives of New Jersey once and my only thought about it was that those god damn guidos are the only people on TV willing to say a wife's role is to have dinner on the god damn table when the husband gets home
also climbing exercises for hands totally kick ass
this is taking muh grip to the next level
and making me more mobile in the process
I feel like the spergs in online fitness sites would never give enough of a crap to spend free time just hanging from random things in different grips to get their fingers more jacked
also finally detoxed myself off caffeine entirely
I still drink coffee but it's all decaf
like we were saying earlier
anyone who actually accomplishes anything spends their online social time in very curated and obscure internet communities
the rest is just idiots on reddit gluing pennies to tables and posting it for karma
yes lol
I literally only go here, my skype and account's sub, and I browse MPC
I am migrating to some more serious self-publishing boards
thinking about your cooking comment... why do normal people think it's such a chore to cook
those people aren't less obnoxious, but lots of them are actually making money writing fiction so it's useful to glean their secrets
I am the busiest person I know and I still cook every single day
They dont have integrated lives
they only want the good-taste in their mouths at the end
I am busier than other medical people because I am juggling side hustle, family and lots of hobbies
usually I am doing other stuff while cooking
cooking is not even that hard, if you just do it a lot you get good fast
there are a trillion how-to vids on youtube also
I basically think anyone who cannot even cook their own food is a child
they must waste so much money too on restaurants and crap, which usually charge 300%
at least. saving money became so fucking easy when I stopped eating out
yes
it literally is cook your own food and don't drink/smoke-> suddenly have tens of thousands just sitting around
i like cooking a lot and my girl is really into it. She does it pretty seriously like studies lots of the old french techniques and her moms' czech recipes and stuff
mine is super stupidly simple
I don't have time for that stuff now, though I want to learn it later
right now I'm so busy I even use premixed spice blends
All that french stuff is pretty simple, it just takes a lot of time. Like french onion soup the "proper" way takes 5-6 hours of just sweating the onions in a dutch oven.
yeah screw that lol
that one I'll pay someone to do at a restaurant
haha you can cheat most of that with a crock pot
crock pots are incredible
you've got me inspired to commit to a grip-training regimen
