Wagner D:<

2017-08-07 21:06:10 UTC

did you get a chance to read Seraphim Rose or the short story collections @UOC ?

2017-08-07 21:06:28 UTC

nice pictures in this book

2017-08-07 21:09:41 UTC

I read the Nihilism essay

2017-08-07 21:10:09 UTC

I liked it broadly and thought a lot of the arguments and connections were well made although I don't think I share his religious presuppositions

2017-08-07 21:10:19 UTC

really nice pictures

2017-08-07 21:10:25 UTC

his reference to the dialectic was compelling though

2017-08-07 21:10:38 UTC

Yeah, Rackham is top tier illustrator

2017-08-07 21:10:41 UTC

cool, glad you got something out of it

2017-08-07 21:11:00 UTC

I think Guenon is the most successful and complete writer in his descriptions of the current age

2017-08-07 21:11:10 UTC

he doesn't have any equals

2017-08-07 21:11:15 UTC

I haven't read Guenon yet but I keep meaning to.

2017-08-07 21:11:18 UTC

but not everyone can appreciate what he says

2017-08-07 21:11:24 UTC

I would read Reign of Quantity

2017-08-07 21:14:46 UTC

I also thought Rose's whole discourse on "rebellion" as a war against God was compelling although again I would tend to see that from a more symbolic perspective since I'm not a christian

"Formal atheism is the philosophy of a fool (if we may so paraphrase the Psalmist);[30] but antitheism is a profounder malady."
