Science is not to be blindly trusted. History tells us that.

I don't believe in the pharmaceutical conspiracy, because the people I know who went into pharmaceuticals did so because people close to them succumbed to disease, and they wanted to help avoid that. I can't reconcile the idea that they're trying to make us unhealthy, with the people that I know.

Science itself is a process, and a fundamental part of science is questioning. So science, to me, is not meant to be a belief system, but rather, a system where people form questions and hypotheses about the world around them. A fundamental part of that is questioning established theories.
