neo-nazism is more edgy than just bashing linux nerds on freenode
I was in the GNAA chats watching GNFOS for a while but then other things in life swept me up
TendieLord I am interested in the concept of hierarchies among human pursuits and potential justifications for such
stopped being a NEET basement dweller with the free time
I think "creative output" is a good place to start considering the question
for a while
@UOC I think that's my beef with video games
I feels like wasted energy
it is a demerit of video games and other "viewed" entertainment
Whereas music composition actually goes somewhere
video games have some minor advantages if you don't play them too much
Ehh
Maybe
making them allows a lot of creativity, playing super hardcore arcade ones speeds up spatial skills
but viewed entertainment also have benefits in some ways I think
otherwise it's just NEETism
But those are more serendipity than anything
"Others] note that my 'avoidance of the standard philosophical terminology for discussing such matters' often creates problems for me; philosophers have a hard time figuring out what I am saying and what I am denying. My refusal to play ball with my colleagues is deliberate, of course, since I view the standard philosophical terminology as worse than useless—a major obstacle to progress since it consists of so many errors."

That's why math is a superior discipline Danny boy
I was obsessed with Goldeney and Legend of Zelda on the N64 in the 90s but then I lost interest in video games for ten years
couldn't get intot he newer consoles after that generation
I used to play video games a lot
now I just barely play anything but try to know about games
so I can gamergate troll when I want to
Quit a year ago and have noted dramatic improvements in my life
Not attributing them exclusively to games, but I think quitting was beneficial
prioritizing your time is always important
with games I'd have to reason why I am playing a game, what effect it will have on my psyche and how long it will take
that requires prioritizing your activities, too
and what I'd be doing otherwise
"could I be deadlifting? have I finished my book?"
Essential activities are obviously most important
important is too loaded I think
how about, higher order?
creative pursuits are fundamentally of a higher order than non-creative ones
Whatever
I agree with that I guess
I said "superior" originally
that works too
maslowe's hierarchy maybe relevant here
