it's just in the big cities you need shit loads of officers and thats how the bad ones get in

when you privatize the prison complex it incentivizes putting people in jail

the gov bail out these private prisons all the time
it doesnt even save money
in what sense are they private
and it puts more people in jail
and also in shitty jails too
the police aren't privatized
or the courts
theyre corrupted
so it's the govenment deciding who gets imprisoned
the government forces us to pay for imprisonment
that's not privatized
because these private prison companies are the ones paying the lower level officials off
the whole chain has to be private or none of it is
and the feds pay the companies back
