OK so basically the Bible says salvation is permanent

it's not about apologising it's putting your faith in Jesus to save you from your sins via the Cross

whatever sins you previous committed or commit in the future are crucified up there

you just trust in His sacrificde

So it’s believing in god that saves you?

Which got rid of annual sacrifices at the temple

yes that's right

and there's no need for works, it's by faith apart from works (st. paul)

Does it matter if you’re good or bad?

Ephesians 3:28 "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law."

it doesn't make you lose your salvation

but God will punish you in this world if you seriously sin

Hebrews 12:8 "But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons."

so if someone is sinning and not being punished, they aren't saved

well see I am very curious as to what one should do about their mental suffering

well yes seek medical help but don't take drugs without being wary

antidepressants can really mess you up

There’s therapy too

I know people though who need their antidepressants to function

I recommend asking Christ for salvation so you'll be resurrected healthy, and pray about it - I will pray for you too
