On the other hand, other gay-friendly scientists say, “There is currently no scientific or popular consensus . . . that definitively ‘qualif[ies]’ an individual as lesbian, gay, or bisexual.”21 This is from gay advocate Dr. Lisa Diamond of the University of Utah, author of the highly influential book Sexual Fluidity. She is not the only one. A study funded by the National Institutes of Health found, “There is no standard definition of lesbian. The term has been used to describe women who have sex with women, either exclusively or in addition to sex with men (i.e., behavior); women who self-identify as lesbian (i.e., identity); and women whose sexual preference is for women (i.e., desire or attraction). . . . The committee strongly believes that there is no one ‘right’ way to define who is a lesbian.”22 “Scientists” advocating for homosexuality regularly tell us—per Alfred Kinsey’s now widely adopted theory—that sexual orientation falls along a continuum from exclusively heterosexual to exclusively homosexual. Each person may have a bit of everything.23
