all bottlenecked by one memory controller per 2 cores, making two cores peforming at 75% of their theoretical max

2017-10-31 18:04:16 UTC

2017-10-31 18:04:25 UTC

2017-10-31 18:11:20 UTC

1500x is 55% better than the FX 6300

2017-10-31 18:13:50 UTC

The first computer that I ever built has been based on AM3. Starting tomorrow, I begin a year worth of savings so I can build an AM4 computer.

2017-10-31 18:15:58 UTC

it was good at the time

2017-10-31 18:16:32 UTC

in 2012, honestly it was competitive, but amd didn't push for a new architecture soon enouigh

2017-10-31 18:17:34 UTC

I built it in 2014. And frankly, it was a nice upgrade when I got it, just like the prebuilts and the laptop before it.

2017-10-31 18:18:20 UTC

Unlike those computers, this one is still halfway decent. I have to turn down the settings on my high-end games, but it's half decent.

2017-10-31 18:21:02 UTC

I've built plenty of computers, honestly not that many amd systems, only two in my living. I work specifically with asrock and ASUS boards. My first amd system was in 2015, and it had an 8320 in it, second system was a Ryzen 1600. The 1600 was easy to work through, easy overclocking, just plain good. But I work mostly with xeons and HEDT stuff, so.
