yea i figured operation cost at $1440/yr
my friend has a bunch of avalonminer 741
each use $50/mo of electricity
how do those compare to the S9s?
not as good
they are half the price
he bulk ordered $40-50k of them
he couldnt get his hands on that many s9s
i searched for a few hrs last night trying to find like a power mining rig and couldnt find one. the daughter said the S9 was op. and yea, the next batch they're shipping out on the S9 i ordered is in January. apparently they are behind on production/demand.
my friend runs his bitcoin miners in a warehouse since it was too noisy for garage/basement
i might go all in on the mining thing soon too, the profit is there. i just want to see one of these things work before i do.
Insanely loud
@SchloppyDoggo what you need is an insane circuit
they take up something like 1000W each I think?
thats gonna trip a 15 amp home circuit with 2 of them connected
is crypto currency mining even worth the electricity it uses anymore?
@Hentai Frog depends on what miner you have
my friend has a bunch of avalonminer 741s
they use $50 of electricity a month but generate about $210
And hes got a bunch
I have one in my basement, idk what circuit I could afford to plug it into
maybe our spare bedroom
I keep mine at the north pole because they run so hot, if they get frozen and stop operating I usually set mine on fire and it does the trick
just like new
@Huma_Abedin did you need me sweetie
no

This has been one of the better sales on steam
Personally I can't fully reccomend Linux until it has better gaming support
Linux works great for me. I've got Steam, Minecraft, a built in emulator for retro consoles, and Wine for those stubborn games that aren't being ported to Linux.
linux gaming is a meme
if youre actually happy with the ~5% of steam games that support it then 👌🏿
