👌🏻

I’d choose to remember memories. Why delete anything? Even the bad memories are important, they define us as people, they are an important experience that teaches us not to repeat the same mistakes, etc

2018-10-06 11:03:44 UTC

@Logical-Scholar that's a tough question, deleting memories can remove anxiety from public speeches for example, phobias etc.
Remembering anything is also very useful, but there's a limit to what we can remember, plus remembering everything you hear from some person for example.. fuck that

I'd go for deleting ability

2018-10-06 11:03:57 UTC

@LaCraig Will do!

2018-10-06 11:04:53 UTC

@Noxar why choose to delete some memory that might not be comfortable for you instead of learning to deal with it?

2018-10-06 11:05:29 UTC

@Noxar There is actually a fuck ton of stuff a human being can remember

2018-10-06 11:05:32 UTC

@sasha because you would delete the ones you can't deal with no matter what.

Some trauma, PTSD, etc.

2018-10-06 11:05:46 UTC

Try count all English vocabularies for example

2018-10-06 11:05:51 UTC

I know them all in my head

2018-10-06 11:05:52 UTC

well most

2018-10-06 11:06:06 UTC

And a good share of Italian once

2018-10-06 11:06:28 UTC

If you have ability to learn a language then learning an individual subject is nothing

2018-10-06 11:06:42 UTC

Yes we can remember a lot, but there's a limit, our brain isn't infinite in size and it's pretty well documented our brain automatically discards useless memories, because, well, they are useless - garbage - takes up space @Logical-Scholar

2018-10-06 11:07:12 UTC

It would be great to have both abilities

2018-10-06 11:07:20 UTC

delete what you don't want and remember what you want

2018-10-06 11:07:26 UTC

@Noxar I guess it is good for people with mental problems, traumas, as you’ve stated. But other than that, I don’t see any use to deleting memories to those who don’t suffer any of those

2018-10-06 11:07:54 UTC

But the delete memory ability is hard to use responsibly

2018-10-06 11:08:04 UTC

like people will use it like weed, escape problems

2018-10-06 11:08:13 UTC

it's well documented Weed makes you forget easily

2018-10-06 11:08:20 UTC

True

2018-10-06 11:08:26 UTC

hence people use it to escape life

2018-10-06 11:08:32 UTC

We technically already have a way to remember everything - for a long time - books and today High capacity hard drives which we can take with us anywhere, hell even SSDs on our phones,
Flash drives @Logical-Scholar

2018-10-06 11:09:21 UTC

Also, isn't this essentially transhumanism, I thought you were against it @Logical-Scholar

2018-10-06 11:10:12 UTC

I am against changing our DNA for the unnatural yeah, I was thinking more of a fantasy scenario because it makes for speculations on how you want to act

2018-10-06 11:10:38 UTC

I could ask it more realistically, like do you want to either smoke weed or nonstop memrise

2018-10-06 11:12:07 UTC

Assuming I can change the world to be a better place - memories
In case that's not possible, not weed but a bullet to the head tbh

2018-10-06 11:16:20 UTC

Yes, because that' physically impossible

2018-10-06 11:16:36 UTC

Urbanism naturally breeds cosmopolitan, left wing thoughts

2018-10-06 11:16:51 UTC

@Gaguchi yes but only insofar as I believe in democracy

2018-10-06 11:16:59 UTC

Which is only when it is convenient

2018-10-06 11:17:34 UTC

@Noxar Hmm in Croatia the cities of Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik are more Fascist than basically the entire rurality of Istria

2018-10-06 11:17:35 UTC

It can literally never switch like that, its impossible
Big city life creates leftism

2018-10-06 11:17:45 UTC

Ideally city dwellers would not have the right to vote at all

2018-10-06 11:18:07 UTC

Monarch as the executive power with an elected Legaslite branch @Gaguchi

2018-10-06 11:18:07 UTC

Uh, not doing democracy?

2018-10-06 11:18:10 UTC

It's pretty easy

2018-10-06 11:18:31 UTC

Literally every other system

2018-10-06 11:18:36 UTC

Also, daily reminder that Democracy is not a government form @Gaguchi

2018-10-06 11:18:41 UTC

Urban folks follow what is mainstream

2018-10-06 11:18:47 UTC

You act like it's impossible to not have these ridiculous elections

2018-10-06 11:18:54 UTC

Democracy is a decision making process in Which simple majority automatically wins
