We did save them

2019-04-09 08:46:52 UTC

wow socrates

2019-04-09 08:46:53 UTC

They’re quite rare now, though

2019-04-09 08:47:01 UTC

bees are really annoying

2019-04-09 08:47:04 UTC

insects in general

2019-04-09 08:47:08 UTC

?????

2019-04-09 08:47:18 UTC

looking forward to the time when we can remove them without destroying the ecosystem

2019-04-09 08:47:19 UTC

Insects don’t really affect me at all.

2019-04-09 08:47:20 UTC

bees aren't annoying they're little helpers

2019-04-09 08:47:36 UTC

until they sting you because they are too stupid to realize you are not a threat

2019-04-09 08:47:46 UTC

bees rarely sting you

2019-04-09 08:47:53 UTC

rarely is not good enough

2019-04-09 08:48:03 UTC

it's wasps that are stinging everyone

2019-04-09 08:48:19 UTC

bees are less problematic than people

2019-04-09 08:48:22 UTC

wasps need to go too

2019-04-09 08:48:51 UTC

Mosquitoes were made forcibly extinct in Africa and the Americas, if that’s any consolation.

2019-04-09 08:49:07 UTC

That was a fairly recent change, over the span of a year

2019-04-09 08:49:15 UTC

Started about two decades ago.

2019-04-09 08:50:21 UTC

wait what

2019-04-09 08:50:25 UTC

no mosquitoes in america?

2019-04-09 08:50:29 UTC

you serious?

2019-04-09 08:50:37 UTC

why haven't we genocided them here yet

2019-04-09 08:50:54 UTC

he's talking about in his time travel reality

2019-04-09 08:51:00 UTC

oh right

2019-04-09 08:51:09 UTC

and I got hopeful there for a second

2019-04-09 08:51:13 UTC

lol

2019-04-09 08:51:17 UTC

Yes, they were deemed an “unneeded species”.

2019-04-09 08:51:33 UTC

why bother with mosquitos when ticks exist

2019-04-09 08:51:41 UTC

all parasites need to be removed

2019-04-09 08:52:01 UTC

I will note, from what I have seen, the technology we used to extinguish them should already take be present in your time, albeit costly and inefficient.

2019-04-09 08:52:17 UTC

ideally in the smoothest and most peaceful manner

2019-04-09 08:52:27 UTC

we don't want any collateral damage in the ecosystem now do we

2019-04-09 08:52:57 UTC

there's nothing peaceful about terminating living creatures

2019-04-09 08:53:07 UTC

Multiple genetic mutations were found that caused the mosquitoes to become. . . Unsuitable for life.

2019-04-09 08:53:24 UTC

who said anything about termination? we could just gather them using drone armies and place them in a mosquito habitat

2019-04-09 08:53:47 UTC

well then what would they feed off

2019-04-09 08:53:56 UTC

they would all die out

2019-04-09 08:54:02 UTC

synthetic blood or whatever. let them figure it out

2019-04-09 08:54:04 UTC

Careful gene editing resulted in a “seed population” of mosquitoes that was introduced into the wild. The mosquitoes passed on genetic defects that became more severe as generations passed.

2019-04-09 08:54:14 UTC

smh

2019-04-09 08:54:30 UTC

we owe nothing to the mosquitoes
