well to be fair, next gen ISP or not, if you're still using copper cable and analog connection, you can't expect much more

if you don't have optical fiber, it depends on a lot of thing, the decibel of attenuation is the most important factor

it depends on your max connection, a good internet cable is really usefull if you have optic fiber

not so much if you have adsl
