like I said, ms's offical VM

2017-01-19 20:40:15 UTC

I don't know if they still have it up, it was quite hard to find on their website

2017-01-19 20:40:33 UTC

yeah, on which software tho ? VMware, Virtualbox, Parallels, Virtual PC, etc ?

2017-01-19 20:40:58 UTC

oh, it was something made by microsoft directly ?

2017-01-19 20:41:02 UTC

yes

2017-01-19 20:41:11 UTC

not just a virtual disc with windows on it

2017-01-19 20:41:13 UTC

okay okay

2017-01-19 20:41:48 UTC

They made it available during the vista/7 period

2017-01-19 20:41:48 UTC

well, you should be able to play them on linux with WINE though

2017-01-19 20:42:01 UTC

not from a VM, but if you dualboot

2017-01-19 20:42:13 UTC

yeah, I understand

2017-01-19 20:42:23 UTC

I had ubuntu on an old computer

2017-01-19 20:42:28 UTC

older*

2017-01-19 20:42:45 UTC

can you give me an example of game just to tell you if it's officially supported by WINE ?

2017-01-19 20:42:58 UTC

Ohh

2017-01-19 20:43:02 UTC

so it isn't all games?

2017-01-19 20:43:09 UTC

or you can check it out there : https://appdb.winehq.org/

2017-01-19 20:43:27 UTC

not recent games, old games will probably works, some requires patches

2017-01-19 20:43:28 UTC

more likely than not it isn't supported then, it's an obscure point & click called "neighbours from hell"

2017-01-19 20:44:01 UTC

platinum support

2017-01-19 20:44:41 UTC

lmao

2017-01-19 20:44:46 UTC

it should works without any patch and everything should works out of the box

2017-01-19 20:45:23 UTC

the other game I tried, besides the neighbours from hell sequel, was one called "my petz racers" or something like that

2017-01-19 20:45:40 UTC

despite the name and it being a corn flake pack-in it was actually good

2017-01-19 20:46:43 UTC

didn't find it on the DB, it might still works though

2017-01-19 20:47:27 UTC

this is just an user database to show which game works and which don't, require patch, some functionality is broken, etc

2017-01-19 20:47:51 UTC

aha

2017-01-19 20:48:09 UTC

maybe I'll get gentoo running sometime then

2017-01-19 20:48:28 UTC

or ubuntu again.

2017-01-19 20:48:47 UTC

I suggest you ubuntu if you're not really used to linux ^^"

2017-01-19 20:49:03 UTC

gentoo would be too much for you to handle, just to install it

2017-01-19 20:49:19 UTC

why is that?

2017-01-19 20:49:36 UTC

it's not delivred with an installer, nor a graphical interface

2017-01-19 20:50:02 UTC

you have to install it manually, and compile your own kernel, softwares, etc

2017-01-19 20:50:05 UTC

lol

2017-01-19 20:50:58 UTC

I got pokemon art academy and my Piplup looks shit

2017-01-19 20:51:44 UTC

I don't bother drawing 1:1, I just make them look funny

2017-01-19 20:51:45 UTC

there's a wiki if you want to check the installation procedure if you want, you might be able to install it by simply copying what you see, but it'll be a far too big hassle for you and once installed, you'd still have just a freaking console

2017-01-19 20:53:02 UTC

I made the froakie look like a marial artist, made the tepig photorealistic and made an oddish with a marijuana leaf instead of actual weeds
