Hey wanna start gear out with a jacket thread. Found a good video comparing price and waterproofness. Its motorcycle related but it should translate to outdoors and prepping.

Good shit, will check it out/discuss more in a little bit. I'm about to fly to Boston and idk if I'm gonna cough up the shekels for in-flight internet
Understandable. And they wonder why airlines are always fileing for bankruptcy.
The wifi pass was $16
Fuck that
What are you using the jacket for btw? @MEME Fister
Just for everyday stuff or camping
Let me see if I have ot near me
It's called the apex flex
Breaths well and keeps you dry
Looks nice
So goretex is better for outerwear than for footwear, I take it? People always seem to say that goretex boots aren't worth it
It depends
From my prospective and experience leather is more robust
Not as light and waterproof. So untra light backpackers will pay more moneyies for it. Keep in mind though these type of people are freaks and will chop off the handle of their toothbrush to the head just to save a couple of ounces.
But Goretex is good for jackets
lol this is true
>people are freaks and will chop off the handle of their toothbrush to the head just to save a couple of ounces
>mfw I've seen people like this
I know. And the wierd ass tarp/treck pole abortion thing they use is not ok
what like trekking pole tents?
Sorta
It uses the trekking pole as the pole In the tent
Sounds good on paper but if a bust down on your pole. And it will happen you are kinda fucked
sounds like a shit time
Yeah it's a shit meme
But I feel like gear has been getting lighter
Just people do bring useless shit
random question: did you get your roles successfully? I can't see them on my end
Let me see. I've never got a role before
It looks like the buttons are fucking broken
Here's what it looks like
Ahh yeah I've seen those
>bro sleeping pads are extra weight I'm young and healthy bro
But pads keep you warm desu
yes
you'll fuck your body up sleeping on the ground too
I highly recomend owning a hatchet, used for firewood, and for general lumber, also super easy to find
anyone have recommended masks
