2020-04-11 20:52:09 UTC

bought ten bags of cow shit

2020-04-11 20:52:59 UTC

Oddly enough my yard has just started smelling like manure despite living far away enough from local farms

2020-04-11 20:57:31 UTC

your neighbour is shitting in your yard

2020-04-11 20:57:48 UTC

does your neighbour eat grass?

2020-04-11 21:08:35 UTC

No it might be from me throwing my dogs poop into the area of their yard they never go in

2020-04-11 22:24:46 UTC

so it's the neighbours yard not yours

If i store regular tap water in a plastic tank. in order to keep it from growing algae or anything unwated, what do i have to add/look out for?

2020-04-13 03:37:59 UTC

this is a good question, can someone ping me when it's answered?

2020-04-13 03:38:06 UTC

i'm also curious about that

2020-04-13 03:45:12 UTC

@Lizard what's the tank like?

2020-04-13 03:46:08 UTC

if you just buy like one of those plastic blue Aquatainers then all you should have to do is store it somewhere cool and dark (because warmth and light enable bacterial growth)

2020-04-13 03:46:57 UTC

if your city water is pretreated that should be all
if it isn't, add a bit of bleach in first (check the proper amount though, think it's like 8 drops per gallon but don't quote me on it)
you can also use pool shock (calcium hypochlorite) if you'd prefer, it's often easier to store, but be wary that it's generally considered more toxic

2020-04-13 03:47:47 UTC

then rotate every 6 months or so
not because the water "goes bad" but because the plastic leeches into the water over time

Certain kinds of plastic don’t leach into water if I do recall correctly

2020-04-13 14:41:11 UTC

> then rotate every 6 months or so

@itstooslim But in a total shtf scenario drinking that water would not be my biggest problem right? I^m reffering to of its gonna give me longterm damages or short-term

2020-04-13 14:41:44 UTC

I’ve drinked out of water 2 years old from a plastic bottle

2020-04-13 14:41:48 UTC

I’m still alive

2020-04-13 14:42:04 UTC

Maybe lost a couple brain cells

2020-04-13 14:42:34 UTC

sounds safe to me

2020-04-13 14:43:30 UTC

if i have to boil my water before drinking it, does that mean that its not pretreated right?

2020-04-13 14:43:32 UTC

>he drinks the gay frog bottles

2020-04-13 14:44:33 UTC

Iodine should kill most anything after you boil it. Just a drop or so

2020-04-13 14:45:12 UTC

There are also portable water filters

2020-04-13 17:17:58 UTC

Banana, willow, and bamboo have all been officially ordered.

2020-04-13 17:18:28 UTC

Interesting choices

2020-04-13 17:22:38 UTC

banana is obvious its both food *and* vitamins *and* cramps/blood pressure
willow should also be obvious as its used for pain relief. chemically it is nearly identical to aspirin
bamboo is, well, its bamboo. the only plant with more uses than marijuana

Dunno if you guys will find this useful, but this method prolongs the shelf life of raw fish

2020-04-13 18:42:24 UTC

Basically, it stops the fish from pumping cortisol and lactic acid (it says it makes it rot faster) through it's body bc it's trying to spasm too much by killing it quick, draining it's blood, and disconnecting the nervous system to avoid any further movement from the fish

2020-04-13 18:42:48 UTC

^^^this

2020-04-13 18:42:55 UTC

Tastes a lot better too ngl

2020-04-13 18:43:05 UTC

Vox is the worst YT channel ever, but for *once* they are correct about something

2020-04-13 18:43:53 UTC

I mean, there's some good videos made by vox but yeah, they're essentially bluepilled, although not as much as buzzfeed and vice

2020-04-13 18:49:55 UTC

Any of you guys have any good recipes for smoked jerky?

2020-04-13 19:13:52 UTC

I've always either booped 'em in the head then gut/scale them, or sever spinal cord with knife then gut/scale
