@Dear Mason, because we can know how their lives will develop. Why would you shield an unborn child from a timely death but expose them to an entire live riddled with suffering?
@Dear Mason 1) I don't like arguing morally cause that's a whole can of worms and 2) If you can't afford the needs of the child with pre existing conditions and torture them and yourself over a lifetime that's on you, but you shouldn't force others who think otherwise to follow that
I’m against abortions of healthy children, but if the child has a degenerative disease or disability, depending on the severity the state will intervene to abort it.
speaking of preferring death over suffering - the right for assisted, calm suicide is pretty bad in the U.S- some hospitals simply cut off food supplies to patients and provide them with painkillers
