well a gun is going to be better than a knife defensive wise

but if we get rid of guns then your going to want get rid of knives too

then hammers and screwdrivers and pretty much anything that is considered a "weapon"

then our freedom of speech becuase even that could be a "weapon"

pretty much no one wants to completely get rid of guns
