yeah i remember the facebook initial days. i was a blue collar kid and idnt go to college til much later, so was pissed off they shut me out lol
eSports not best thing to redpill. Cos all the games are part owned/owned by china. So they will not do anything that goes against them
not too worried about china tbh
i have no idea how to appeal to the meme crowd though. think you need some pipehitting memers if you want any chance to succeed
the terms of service are clear that all contributions remain the property of the original poster. but not sure how to really incentivize people to join up, other than just developing a great UX.
the weighting is a good idea - i like that. i ditched the downvote to reduce bubble effects and mob rule type stuff that libs do on reddit
which would make implementing that algo simpler
yeah contests for sure. maybe meme contests, where users vote. im giving away money in fantasy prediction style contests, but even generating interest in that is tough
good brainstorm. thanks for that <@!393186341816631296>
it costs money to run large websites
people dont want to advertise with u if ur content seems edgy
then the libs wont sign up bc they will just call it republican4chan
or someone will say u censor lib commentary even if u dont and it just gets drown out by others
thats why the libs dont like Peterson even tho he isnt really right wing
cause he goes on right wing platforms
Anything remotely rational is right wing
dont want/need advertisers. corporations are much phagoot.
thats one lesson that is obvious - right of center needs to grass roots everything now. all corporations have been taken over by leftist hr departments who are terrified of controversy. so fuck em. do it ourselves.
Social media is too big a problem to tackle as a jumping off point
money must be pumped into the the platform to take hold
the issue for the right is that many conservative business owners are very risk averse and will not invest in untested tech startups in a significant way.
Start smaller, scratch your own itch, then invest in your ideas
🤤 daddy 🤤
not sure i agree that its too big to tackle. a social media platform is a hell of a lot cheaper to kickstart than i think you realize. huge growth presents a challenge but not until you reach 1M+ users. (and thats one of those 'good' problems.) in the initial stages costs are very manageable - and i have plenty of money, thats not the issue. i dont need investors.
i just need to figure out how to reach that critical mass. but there were some good suggestions being thrown out earlier.
I have a question on the 'make America great again' slogan and a critique: How does Trump mean when he says MAGA when the history of the United States hasn't been the best. Veterans from both the world wars and Vietnam has been treated like shit when they returned and those coming back from prior his presidency has gotten minimal treatment and job opportunities. Minorities have a terrible history, having the 'war on drugs' being set-up to incarcerate them *knowingly* that it was an unfair, unethical and by today's standards illegal move that still has repercussions today. Our economy was terrible in the 1920s, the 60s and encouraged mobs and gangs with selling in the black/underground market. The housing crisis back in '08 caused many people thier homes and was also an economic downturn.
Should the slogan be "Make America Better" or something along those lines because despite as much as I respect the nation and our president I think the slogan is garnering a lot of criticism, and understandably so since American history has a lot of failures, sins and ''swamp'' that President Trump is working hard to clear up.

So why is this question being repeated b 5 different people?
Cos they came to troll/raid
This is why we have vetted channels
Hey fellow conservatives! I really like Trump but what about (insert leftist opinion)? Does that sit well with you? Love this bait
Oh look how I hate liberals and immigrants and minorities, please accept me as one of your own
i think theres a need for something much more broad than just a twitter/reddit clone - plenty of those already exist. a lot of ultra-nerdy/libertarian types always go way off the deep end, demanding open source, totally decentralized, zero censorship, extreme privacy measures, etc etc etc etc. but those things tend to lead to a small insular community of extreme weirdos. im aiming instead for a wide audience of people who are open minded, but not extremely political or whatever. centralized and (partially) curated - at least at the early stages. need to start thinking way, way broader than just spinning up yet another platform that caters exclusively to the TD crowd and focusing political stuff.
rather than a place for people to talk exclusively about politics, im aiming for it to be a place frequented by primarily right of center people, but where content is mostly NOT political.
i do like a lot of the principles behind aether - ephemeral posts could be a really good thing.
