my doctor texted me this morning, apparently they can now do tele-medicine. so if I feel sick at all, he can skype me or whatever they use.
Amazon is hiring delivery people. food service delivery like uber eats, door dash, and that other one... there's going to be a huge spike in demand.
but there's also people like me - starting a brand new online business where I used to work in an office.
how many others are doing this? re-evaluating their options and deciding to try something new?

Considering they are saying the first infection was sometime in November, this virus has probably been here for some time. It was probably assumed to be the Flu. Ive heard from several people who have been sick over the last couple months and their symptoms match the virus perfectly. Trump is using the media hysteria to his advantage, IMO. Shutting everything down will help "flattern the curve", keep the death toll lower than it otherwise would be, lower than other countries, and he can claim victory. The markets will bounce back as soon as this is over. I was surprised to hear them mention the July-August timeframe. Knowing Trump, he will say August, when they know it will be July. Finishing ahead of schedule, another victory, though saying that timeframe now will cause some economic troubles short term, he is thinking long term
His base is the most loyal of any candidate, he will not lose support over this. His first rally after this will fill up quicker than ever
I think the big hype surrounding this is the fact that there is no vaccine for this particular strain and the fact that it's pretty much a sure fire death sentence for people over the age of 60.
I just hope that when we do go on our 15 to 30 day vacation they are able to keep the power and internet on.

@shwa can confirm, had a two week long cold/flu back in November or December that matches the symptoms perfectly. Wasn't even that bad, it just lasted a while. Now everything is shutting down and people are freaking the fuck out.
