I agree actually, we adopt massive swaths of technology but our morality can't keep up.
Sure, people say we should hold back and think about the consequences, but you never really know until you actually do it and its too late. But we take that risk, and sometimes they habe consequences.
I think the Amish to be a bit smarter than we give them credit for, letting the modern world take the hits and they adopt it retrospectively.
They seem to be nice people, though I haven't met them myself.
