Look at college, when the US started giving out student loans college admission prices went up because schools suddenly knew they would get guaranteed money from the governemnt;

charge students a premium + the gov will guarantee even if they fail, so they can charge whatever they want.

That said, health care COSTS MONEY to research,including ongoing research to current mediciations/etc; they use the profits to fund new research, that research costs a LOT of money. Other countries wait until the US losses patients on it then buys it for pennies on the dollar

so other countries can fuck off and start paying their fair share in the innovation of the US medical fields. Maybe then it'll cost the same as in the UK. /rant over
