FYI that teacher gives the excuse he "can't go against the syllabus"... Generally, the teachers CREATE the syllabus or have direct input. That's an incredibly bullshit excuse.

The scarier thought would be NYC has a syllabus dictated by an unelected school board, or perhaps a local government board, which is communist as fuck. You cannot teach children the truth, only what the Party allows.
