In a perfect world we'd be hunting bears with grenade launchers.

2018-09-19 21:39:32 UTC

😢

2018-09-19 21:40:29 UTC

There was a guy in CT who hunted with rifle grenades. He said if he couldn't take out the critter with the intert training round the fellow diserved to live to see another day

But call me old fashioned but chasing a herd(?) of pigs in a chopper with an AR shooting every last one of them isn't exactly minimising the experience for them is it.

2018-09-19 21:42:37 UTC

Considering they are a pest species that attack pretty much everything else. There are no limits on them in TX.

2018-09-19 21:42:58 UTC

Also they can be dangerous.

2018-09-19 21:43:20 UTC

In fact if the population continues to grow, the state might call out the National Guard and or State Defense Force to do the same thing

2018-09-19 21:43:32 UTC

Go ham then. No pun intended.

2018-09-19 21:45:44 UTC

I shot one that crossed a rail road track, a store parking lot, four lane road into my apartment's parking lot and went after some kids. Took me two shots to the head to drop it with a Kalashnikov pattern carbine

2018-09-19 21:46:51 UTC

Big heads. Little brains.

2018-09-19 21:48:13 UTC

Yeah, a boar's shield(huge chunk of cartilage or whatever surrounding their vital organs) makes them really hard to kill without heavy firepower. And even then they're famous for their tenacity

2018-09-19 21:48:37 UTC

bleeding out doesn't particularly hurt

2018-09-19 21:48:53 UTC

and of course you don't have any nerves internally

2018-09-19 21:49:12 UTC

City PD and County SD did a quick investigation and cleared me by the end of the night. I didn't get to keep the meat

2018-09-19 21:49:13 UTC

what

2018-09-19 21:49:16 UTC

If you're hunting a moose or bear with a bow you are at a significant disadvantage. You have to get close and those things can kill you no problem.

2018-09-19 21:49:19 UTC

so a hit from a bow or crossbow is a small cut

2018-09-19 21:49:26 UTC

no

2018-09-19 21:49:28 UTC

*feels like

2018-09-19 21:49:34 UTC

And unless you hit brain or heart you're not going to take it down.

2018-09-19 21:49:52 UTC

Crow that's not at all how nerves work

2018-09-19 21:51:12 UTC

ye, sensory receptors. you don't have any pain receptors inside

2018-09-19 21:51:24 UTC

or have very limited, they exist in places like your intestine in limited amounts

2018-09-19 21:51:30 UTC

nerves obviously permeate your entire body

2018-09-19 21:51:38 UTC

mistranslation on my end

2018-09-19 21:52:20 UTC

Getting shot by an arrow is not going to feel the same as getting a 'small cut'.

2018-09-19 21:53:24 UTC

depends on what you mean by small. I suppose light stab would be more appropriate, even though hunting arrows are designed to cut

2018-09-19 21:53:24 UTC

Arrows really hurt.

2018-09-19 21:53:51 UTC

have any of you ever been stabbed?

2018-09-19 21:54:38 UTC

I've never taken an arrow but I've been stabbed in the leg and I've had punches that hurt more.

2018-09-19 21:54:39 UTC

it doesn't hurt at all until way later, and of course a dumb animal not seeking medical treatment would just bleed out on a good hit

2018-09-19 21:54:53 UTC

yeah, punches generally hurt a lot more (initially)

2018-09-19 21:55:00 UTC

Sort of, it was a blunted end of a training spear, still sucked

2018-09-19 21:56:04 UTC

It's the aching that comes for days after that's a pain . But there's no telling if thats just the adrenalin.

2018-09-19 22:00:49 UTC

@da britian Man, that image is such a dog's breakfast

2018-09-19 22:01:30 UTC

M16 style handle, no muzzle brake, holding what looks like a handgun cartridge

2018-09-19 22:01:41 UTC

curved magazine?

2018-09-19 22:02:07 UTC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrWYuh_s1RQ

here for example is a very good hit, but as you can see the pain is on the level where the elk merely flinches, and then as soon as it's depleted it's existing oxygen it's out cold

2018-09-19 22:02:11 UTC

Front sight higher than rear sight???

2018-09-19 22:02:37 UTC

Got a picture Xorgy?
