Atkins, feel free to disagree, but my thing is for every Semi-auto you have you need ATLEAST 3 magazines. A range mag (in your range bag), a Ready Mag (for when things go bad) and a Blue Mag (With snap caps for training).

2018-09-28 21:21:22 UTC

If you want to learn about practical gear, like hoslters, chest rigs, packs, etc, believe it or not /k/ isn't that bad.

2018-09-28 21:21:44 UTC

Oh Christ you want more than 3.

2018-09-28 21:22:22 UTC

Three sets of mags maybe

2018-09-28 21:22:49 UTC

Let me put it this way, my Rifle belt has six x 20 mags plus the Ready mag.

2018-09-28 21:23:25 UTC

My rig has 4x2 mag pouches, plus one in the gun.

2018-09-28 21:23:26 UTC

My Carbine belt has 8 x 30 Mags not including Ready, Range or Blue

2018-09-28 21:25:41 UTC

I'd say have a set of mags for your rig, a set for the range, plus some mags for special purposes (like blue for training, etc). Rotate between your range and chest rig mags. That's bare minimum.

2018-09-28 21:27:40 UTC

I don't want to be one of those guys that has an ammo fort though.

2018-09-28 21:28:00 UTC

I have 20 AR mags and that's plenty as far as I'm concerned.

2018-09-28 21:30:31 UTC

How reliable are gun store owners for advice?

2018-09-28 21:30:39 UTC

Knowing they want to upsell you.

2018-09-28 21:30:49 UTC

depends on the store

2018-09-28 21:31:24 UTC

you're probably better off going with a friend who has some knowledge rather than trusting the guy behind the counter.

2018-09-28 21:31:54 UTC

Hm. Fair point. Is there a good way to distinguish the good stores and the bad ones?

2018-09-28 21:32:08 UTC

I can assume Walmart isn't the best source of information. But what about the local gun shop with a range?

2018-09-28 21:32:34 UTC

Places that are selling to cops are better than just going to a big chain store.

2018-09-28 21:33:28 UTC

If they have a range that means you can try it before you buy it.

2018-09-28 21:33:56 UTC

How do you tell a good one from a bad one? Is it all just feel?

2018-09-28 21:34:14 UTC

I would assume you can't tell reliability by just firing a weapon a couple times.

2018-09-28 21:34:38 UTC

Specific firearms?

2018-09-28 21:35:12 UTC

There are a lot of guys that do reviews on Youtube. Military Arms Channel is one of the best.

2018-09-28 21:35:47 UTC

He tends to focus on high-end brand new products.

2018-09-28 21:36:21 UTC

Iraqveteran8888 is another good one <https://www.youtube.com/user/Iraqveteran8888>

2018-09-28 21:36:27 UTC

Honest Outlaw and Nutnfancy on Youtube are also good reviewers

2018-09-28 21:36:40 UTC

I assume they have BitChute backups or something?

2018-09-28 21:36:52 UTC

The two that I mentioned do.

2018-09-28 21:36:52 UTC

Youtube has been purging, as I understand.

2018-09-28 21:37:09 UTC

Not entirely.

2018-09-28 21:37:23 UTC

I don't really like Nutnfancy too much. I don't like the tough guy act.

2018-09-28 21:38:41 UTC

Nutnfancy tends to be real long winded, but he does take the firearms out and tests them as if he is using them in real life.

2018-09-28 21:39:45 UTC

That and he will update his reviews as things develope down the road.

2018-09-28 21:59:05 UTC

Thanks for the advice.

2018-09-28 21:59:58 UTC

no problem.

2018-09-28 22:28:28 UTC

Nutnfancy is a faget
