@Eastern Roman Empire looks like a HK G3A3. I know at as the M75. The army standard issue when I was conscripted, I found it a very stable and very precise assault rifle.

I have no experience with the US made PTR variant, but the original, I will vouch for.

The first thousand or so German made G3's had CETME rollmarks still on the receiver from the dies.

Yes, the Spanish hired as many of the Mauser STG team as they could to finish their work, but it was the Spanish who finished the design of what would become the G3 (vanilla) Battle Rifle. H&K did hire back as many of the the Mauser and other top 3rd Reich firearm people as they could to improve upon the G3 after the fact.
