I've gotta do my bulk 68gr hornady and my bulk M855 and my semi-precision 77gr

I didn't like mag fit of my last batch it stuck after the first 5 rounds because of meplat differences

I'm tempted to trim meplats but for .224dia projectiles it sucks dick

it's already bad enough on .308 and .338 lap

taking it down to .224 seems like it would suck unless it was a sort of a cutting tool two stage thing

grinding wheel and then an insert based on measured resting point that I can't remember the word for based on the angle of the bullet

then post processing with a debur and chamfer

it'd be a tiny chamfer

I gotta order more 77gr smks

I want cannelured ones for crimp

California compliant doublefeed rifles suck dick

better if it doublefeeds and doesn't sink the bullet into the case and instead just bends

unfortunately my load for the 68's is 24.2gr of H335, and that really just doesn't fill the case completely. The projectile is nearly identical in distance from cannelure to the SS109 projectiles.

Speaking of which, I apparently got a really good lot back in the day. My most recent acquisition of SS109 projectiles for M855 clone sucks donkey dick

it's super inconsistent, grouping around 2" which is what I expect M855 to group at

I guess I just got a really good lot for the first 4000 projectiles.

I wonder if the others I loaded and put into storage were shit too

I loaded nearly all of my 40 S&W brass

1k rounds finally in storage

I don't really shoot it much but I kinda ran out

it's a good fallback for practice

usually I bring about 600 rounds of 9x19 to the range. I usually pound through 300-500 on my own 4 hours out, but if someone joins me, it's super useful to be able to continue shooting

and so I pack a hundred or so of my pretty light 40 S&W loads

180grs behind 5.5->5.6 gr of longshot = love

it's ultra clean

(Compared to HS-6 or uh, Clays)

I just ordered CFE Pistol for testing since 9x19 allows for +p+'s that are really fucking high velocity. It's above longshot for some loads

Nothing more fun than shooting 147gr loads that are pushing 1100 FPS out of a g19

Longshot is wonderful though. I love how much volume it takes up. Titegroup, universal and HP-38 all worry me because it's way way way smaller, and small variances lead to major differences in velocity

If I'm individually measuring instead of trusting volume on a slide measure, no problem and I have fun. But there's no way that I trust that shit where an extra half a grain will be a fucking kaboom

now keep in mind, my shit is never ever over 0.2gr; even with varget I got it feeding well enough to do my 77gr smks

and it's still pretty consistent

but that's when it's backed by a shitload of powder (23.8 to 24.2gr)

my min-max spread out of an 18" was 2690 -> 2750 with an average velocity of 30 samples around 2710

but I wouldn't want something random to happen and then cause my hardware to kaboom

when all it takes is a tiny fuckup to cause kaboom, no no no.
