even Digi is a bit lefty for me tbh
he lost his channel twice
it came back though
The other Youtuber I mentioned is Zeria, she focuses on Yuri, I found her through her Re: Cutie Honey recommendation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wUHjNCzaCo ). I see her on GamerGhazi arguing with people who condemn anime as misogynist because "men can like it."
Digi doesnt seem to far left though imo
i do hate it when politics shows up out of nowhere in my non-political channels
yea thats the channel
i think they are in a relationship with another channel creator
same
a guy i follow who does good story & art analysis occasionally comes out and goes on political rants and it makes me want to unsub sometimes
ah
like he made a video (and then deleted it) on that dumb anime crunchyroll is making basically calling everyone who's criticizing it retards because it hasn't been made yet
sounds like he looked back and was like "eeehh maybe i shouldnt have said that"
yeah, he also made one about the new she-ra too tho
in which he went on a rant about how the people criticizing it are neo nazis
sigh
and that video's still up
and it's like
i actually like your content when you avoid politics
why do you do this
We should maybe keep in mind that that Crunchy show does not exist yet & maybe it will be great or utterly terrible or just plain mediocre. It would have probably gotten way less flak if it was just about the show they were making instead of marketing the creative teams diversity.
i think he was entirely missing the point though with his video by saying people can't criticize it, because people are just following patterns and employing a little foresight
@Lagomaster24 he believes into the gender is a spectrum
and unlike hindsight, foresight can often be wrong, but that doesn't mean it lacks value
he isn't too into the left
but still agrees with a lot of it
you know regarding gender, i think im at a point where i largely just dont care anymore
live and let live
@da britian the idea of an american company like CR is to do nothijg like that though
if you support ANIME, it is NOT for american studios to "do anime"
Most people don't seem to be criticizing it for its predicted quality so much as for its unoriginal concept, its creators history, the video revealing it which had little info on the show itself, and for whether it has any good reason to exist given what they view as what should be Crunchyroll's other priorities
Calarts
If you had just shown me the picture of the characters and didn't tell me who was making it, or show me the reveal video I'd be interested in watching it even though it doesn't seem too original.
I will avoid that discussion, I'm tired of it
Anime fans aren't "cartoon fans"
the distinction exists because there's a difference
I don't even see that show as anime, I just see it as an American anime streaming site licensor diversifying into domestic animation.
there's shows that try to blend it a bit, like Avatar or RWBY, that are inspired by anime. They still aren't anime
Agreed. There is a fair amount of overlap which is where I am, but I can definitely understand why people who pay them for anime would be upset over Crunchyroll investing in that instead of in improving their service, or producing actual anime like Netflix has started doing
exactly
the new crunchyroll series i definitely wouldn't call anime, it just looks like an american cartoon
