But when America reorganized the oil market in response to the 70s oil crisis(OPEC, Jews), the price of oil gradually diminish and led to a unfixable financial crisis in the soviet union.

For most of their existence, both communist china and the soviet union desired to beat the US and england in terms of production of manufactured goods and food. But they didnt bother to develop their domestic consumer goods.

It wasn't until the late 50s that premier Khrushchev and other Soviets saw examples of American consumer goods like microwave ovens and washing machines that they ordered their factories to produce their own consumer goods as well
