He took a completly junk antique and made it a useful tool again he didmt just paint he welded did repair work and restoration
And has done machinist custom part making in other vodeos
so what's it useful for? who the hell uses leather belt in machinery these days?
a *functional* tool, but that's not the same as a *useful* tool

I have no issue at all with his repair work and cleaning and whatnot, I'm simply questioning why he's using modern-day spray paint of all things, which clearly isn't authentic
These arent hippy dippy display items they are tools used in actual work
kinda like making a luxury cake sculpted in finest detail, but using the cheapest "chocolate" available
People domt care about the patina and prevalence only thst it will do the job they need it for
right, if you say so, then it's all fine and dandy
A belt lacer is used to make belts and do belt repair for convayers used I'm industrial and acuracitkeral machines
Grug used colour wand and not colour brush. Bad grug
yeah I know, just didn't know people still used leather to any real extent, all rubber where I've worked
Watch a few episodes of those gold mining shows to see just how vital belt repair is in the modern day
A broken belt can cost those guys 10k ot more per day
Damn
@Crow was he supposed to brush the enamel paint and clear coat on?
/sarc
The one repaired in the video is a small one prolly used to repair old single piston belt driven engines that were common in those days and are still highly prized by small scale producers due to their fuel efficiency
