Funny but there were little books to help them communicate
And everyone with a better education or higher rank was able to speak at least a bit of German
I always wondered how they were able to communicate with each other
they learned ether german or hungarian (the officers) after their first language so it wasnt such a big problem at the start of the war

When shit hits the fan but you need to pull out your translation book to communicate with your commanding officer
Well we had more ethnicities than stars in the sky
The Latin alphabet was introduced in Hungary so that it was easier for Hungarians to learn German. The pronunciation of the letters is almost the same. So if an Hungarian would read the sentence in his book just the way he would pronounce it in this mothertoung the Austrian would probably understand him and the other way around too.
