@EYEFORKNOWLEDGE156 Yeah, I just checked on Wikipedia. But even Wikipedia lies. It says that lynchings enforced "white supremacy", but then goes on to say most victims were accused of murder or rape. So it's a lot more likely people were just angry at someone they thought committed a heinous crime and it was mob justice rather than "racial terrorism".

Plus, it says about a third of the victims were white who were probably accused of crimes too. So the actual number of blacks killed every year would've been small and the amount killed by alleged racial hatred and not vigilantism would've been even smaller.
@EYEFORKNOWLEDGE156 It's still a wrong thing to do. They should be given a trial by an official court of law, but I can understand people's outrage.

@Endeavour It’s quite amazing how powerful the narrative about pre-1960’s America is in our education system. Sitting through AP US history was just awful, the whole thing was basically a white guilt trip that championed progressivism as an ultimate good. Classroom debates were always complete torture cuz I had to hold back any views that existed outside the liberal paradigm just from fear of repercussion, it’s downright frustrating.
