@Mac I get what you're saying but it's not as profound as you think it is. First of all, yes, we'd be having this exact discussion about colors if the fate of an entire region depended on whether it was "blue" or "green". Then we'd have to figure out what precisely constitutes blueness and greenness. "I know it when I see it" is fine for picking clothes, but not for a legal system or a foreign policy. I am not deconstructing the reality of race but your conception of it.

Second, you can clearly categorize colors by how they appear to you, and there is an absolute consensus that this is the only logical approach. With race, you are categorizing by phenotype, genotype, and also geography, linguistics, history, and probably a few other factors. You already saw it here, some people admitted to Christian Arabs being "honorary whites". This begs the question of how exactly your categorization works. It's not as simple as with color.

Third, we actually may not know how consistent our perception of color is and whether color is in any sense an innate quality. Physically, the different colors are different in degree and not kind. That is a philosophical conundrum, but not insurmountable. What may be insurmountable is the fact that there are peoples who, for whatever reason, don't know entire color families but have twenty names for shades of green. If some tribe has no concept of redness, can we say red has a mind-independent existence? Hardly. In that, colors are different from ethnic groups.

Won't be around to discuss much longer, it's 10 PM in Germanistan

2020-04-07 20:07:42 UTC

living on welfare is the true chad thing to do. think about it, contributing to the neoliberal society is detrimental, so just leech from the system as much as you can get

2020-04-07 20:07:42 UTC

2020-04-07 20:08:02 UTC

@(JUMP) 璟熙帝 In one of Vargs videos I remember he put the neolithic age as (((the invention of agriculture))) or something along those lines, I immediately stopped watching after that.

2020-04-07 20:08:24 UTC

2020-04-07 20:09:12 UTC

(((The invention of agriculture))) based nomadic paganism

2020-04-07 20:09:16 UTC

Race is a lot more tangible than colour and really if there are edge cases just exclude them

2020-04-07 20:09:44 UTC

I know it when I see it isn't what we operate with anymore

2020-04-07 20:10:30 UTC

We have genetic tests now

2020-04-07 20:10:56 UTC

Which just so happen to allign with the notions of race we had prior

2020-04-07 20:12:07 UTC

Anyway we can acknowledge that some nonwhite populations are closer to us than others and treat them accordingly

2020-04-07 20:12:36 UTC

No need for a pure in and out dichotomy

2020-04-07 20:13:40 UTC

I noticed that you guys were discussing about who is white so I decided to shill for mine definition.

Maltese people aren't Italians

2020-04-07 20:15:32 UTC

They are a mixture of Europeans and Arabs and speak a language derived from Arabic to this day and converted to christianity

2020-04-07 20:16:18 UTC

Also Uralics are hardly a homogeneous population
