I like the Jedi

2020-04-14 14:04:52 UTC

I am unique for defending both the old and New Republic against the Empire

2020-04-14 14:48:24 UTC
2020-04-14 15:13:37 UTC

why the new republic though

2020-04-14 15:13:45 UTC

you mean the shit in the sequels?

2020-04-14 15:13:51 UTC

or the EU

2020-04-14 15:14:21 UTC

In the EU

2020-04-14 15:14:35 UTC

The Old Republic was fine IMO

2020-04-14 15:14:44 UTC

But quite frankly, the Jedi were based pre Ruusan

2020-04-14 15:14:48 UTC

Well I’m starting to like the Empire these days

2020-04-14 15:16:05 UTC

Especially in the EU

2020-04-14 15:16:37 UTC

@Salvation_Crucifix 1000-2000 years before the Battle of Yavin, the Sith had basically been at war with the Republic for so long the Republic could not afford to defend most of its systems outside the core worlds. Eventually, some rebellious Jedi decided to become Jedi Lords, essentially monarchs with inherited titles who would defend systems from the Sith using legions of Jedi Knights. They had their own council, called the Grand Council, which competed directly with the High Council and they would own entire planets or systems as kings and would pass titles down to their children

2020-04-14 15:17:16 UTC

The Jedi were based before the Ruusan Reformation which stripped the Jedi of their titles and made them essentially slaves to the Republic

2020-04-14 15:17:21 UTC

I accept the theory that although Palpatine primarily created the Empire for his own personal power and gain, he had a secondary motivation for militarizing the galaxy against the Yuuzhan Vong

2020-04-14 15:17:58 UTC

The Republic was scattered and decentralized, squabbling and inefficient

2020-04-14 15:18:10 UTC

The Empire was a brutal extension of Palpatine’s will

2020-04-14 15:19:03 UTC

A military complex that could take on the coming invasion without the need of senators and the slowness of politics

2020-04-14 15:19:39 UTC

@Salvation_Crucifix My issue with the Empire is that I hate Palpatine, Tarkin and Vader

2020-04-14 15:19:54 UTC

I think the Imperial Remnant was better morally

2020-04-14 15:20:08 UTC

So, I prefer Thrawn and Pellaeon to Palpatine Vader and Tarkin

2020-04-14 15:26:47 UTC

I always liked the Empire compared to the Rebels. I thought the Rebels were losers who wanted to bring a decaying system back.

2020-04-14 15:30:24 UTC

The issue with the Empire was its leadership, not its system of government

2020-04-14 15:31:00 UTC

I agree with you there

But like I said, Palpatine still had the balls to do what no other senator would

2020-04-14 15:31:26 UTC

The Empire would’ve fared better if he had a system of succession

2020-04-14 15:31:38 UTC

Someone to keep it going in the event of his death

2020-04-14 15:32:09 UTC

It’s noted that it was directly reliant on his will, and once he perished, the Empire fell apart and faced a civil war

2020-04-14 15:32:28 UTC

the new republic would have had interspecies marriage within a decade

2020-04-14 15:32:42 UTC

Lol

2020-04-14 15:33:22 UTC

True nuff

2020-04-14 15:33:51 UTC

and thats why i support the death star project

2020-04-14 15:33:59 UTC

@Skellington This happened in SW Rebels between a Twilek and a Human

2020-04-14 15:34:05 UTC

Gross

2020-04-14 15:34:13 UTC

They’re both humanoids

Didn’t Ahsoka also get married or something

2020-04-14 15:42:09 UTC

The New Republic in EU is very decentralized

2020-04-14 15:42:29 UTC

it greatly reduced taxes, millitary spending and eliminated conscription

2020-04-14 15:52:27 UTC

Is that why they got trashed by the Yuuzhan Vong so badly they had to reform as the Galactic Federation

2020-04-14 17:20:32 UTC

@Salvation_Crucifix she went Grey

2020-04-14 17:20:41 UTC

I dobt remember if she got married

2020-04-14 17:21:51 UTC

I don't think she did though
