Of course he has the authority to order people around

So why all the pointlessness

He's almighty after all

So god was ordering genocide to help the Israelites

I’m sure those tribes the Israelites wiped out could also be made examples of to say “hey guys, what you’re doing here? Stop doing it”

But even then he could just snap them out of existence

Or this will happen to you

The Israelites had to see it first hand

And even commit it

What’s wrong with genocide?

Sin and punishment is one of the primary themes of the early Old Testament books

If the Israelites stepped out of line they had to be punished

Genocide is based and red pilled

Sometimes with exile, sometimes with death

I think the simpler answer is to view god as a deity that isn't almighty and was the patron deity of the jews ordering them to kill because it was in his and their interest, not to make a big point out of it

Can there not be multiple reasons

Idk what moral lesson they were supposed to draw from wiping out tribes

My point is that God had valid reasons to wipe out those peoples

And that same God years and years later had valid reasons to instead offer Himself up as a sacrifice to rid us of sin and the threat of Hell

Idk what a good reason for genocide is and if he's literally all mighty and all knowing he would've been the one qualified to find any other way

I somehow doubt there were no other options

The reasons probably aren't apparent because there are no good ones but feel free to think so

It's a lot to ask someone to just take a genocide as "he prolly had good reasons for it"
