The biggest criticism I have for Technocracy is that Technocratic Experts are not exactly the people that one idealizes them to be.

To judge who should rule based off of one's loyalty to principles above all else will end up being a "Non-Meritocratic" means of Negative Selection. Experts are subordinate high quality slaves, nothing more

I also find it amusing that many people lament that they only want "High IQ People" in charge of the system. The thing is, nearly all elites in any society are normally those who are the most intelligent in the field of acquiring power, the only intelligence that really matters in politics. If they are not good at that, they will naturally be replaced by a rival.
