But it is not a prerequisite to growing anything
If another artifical medium can house nutrients and animal life, it's just as good
you still need the nutrients initially extracted from soil to grow plants in water based solutions
No you don't
There two kinds of nutrients crops need
the nutrients you put in the water don't come from thin air
Macro and micro-nutrients
they are coming from the soil
Crops have been grown in water using just these nutrients
No you can sythesize them in the lab
Basicall Hydrogen, Oxygen and carbon are macronutrients
no you can't synthesize them from thin air
And there are a couple other micronutrients
There's a large list
You can literally synthesize all three micronutrients from thin air lol
complete retard
That analogy doesn't apply in this case
Like literally air has all these three elements
I get what you're tryna say
But yes, these nutrients are available in abundance from other sources
completely wrong
Lol
Bruh you need a botany class asap
I am an engineer, and I studied this stuff in HS
Even I know this stuff
Ppl have been growing plants in just water since like the 70s
That's how they're able to grow healthy plants without soil
you can grow them in water if you put nutrients in it
EXACTLY
but where do you get those nutrients?
the soil
retard
You can get em from other sources
It's just that plants happen get em from soil when growing naturally
Also, Oxygen and Co2 are two nutrients they get from air and not soi;
But whatever
They also get most of their hydrogen from air
and water vapour
Water vapour is not a nutrient tho to be fair
I pity the state of education in America
