i had no idea
yea Senate is more prestigious so its longer
but 2 years for house fucks them over
makes no sense
thats why if term limits where implemented the House would get more terms while the Senate would still get longer ones to maintain prestige
this November we have Senate and House Elections
however not all Senators are up for election
In sweden the general elections are held every 4th year...
4 year terms, works quite ok
so some are just running elections for one incumbent
Pres has 4 year term and can only be Pres. for 2 terms
Supreme Court Justices are in for life
or retirement
we have no term limits and no president. The natinal parliament elects the primeminister after a general election is held
Luckily our Constitution prevents shit like what Putin does in Russia
parliamentary "representative" democracy is yours i think
yes
however we are also a monarchy
We are called a republic and democracy interchangably
so like the UK?
but in difference to the UK the swedish monarch holds no power
UKs holds very little
so yours is entirely ceremonial?
Yes
can they run for office?
Alot of taxmoney for some cermonies and representation though
no
k
so they are the face
the Monarch must not interfere with the political system
essentially
good
partially
the king represents the nation only within certain events and occations
i think UK the monarchy can influence but not make decisions
yea
Swedish royal history has some badass moments btw
it does
it also has it's stains of blood
def
just like our democracy has it's history of race biology..
